What the hell is K-ON anyway, J-pop or Goth?

No.17894

No idea, but "The title of the series comes from the Japanese word for light music, keiongaku, but in the Japanese context is similar to pop music."

"The characters of K-On! have surnames derived from members of the Japanese bands P-Model and The Pillows."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K-On!

"P-Model was a Japanese techno-pop band"

"The Pillows (styled as the pillows) are a Japanese alternative rock band."

FLCL?

>>17895 is just a humorous picture of K-On members acting like rockers (probably Heavy Metal/Death Metal).

No idea. First heard it from "Kenoh" of Fist of North Stars. Light music is said from English "seaside orchestra", became widespread after BBC broadcast. NHK started the TV programs with light music in the titles. Thereafter, JPN schools started the so and so club with rock element.
